over Easter while she shot a scene with William Macy for
a new comedy ‘The Deal’ at the Convention Centre,
transformed into the Los Angeles airport!

Cliff Richard sang at Kirstenbosch, and visited

in Franschhoek for dinner and wine-tasting.

David Helfgott, about whom the movie “Shine”, starring
Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush, was made, returns to Cape
Town to celebrate his 60th birthday with
concerts at the Baxter in Cape Town on 9 and 13 May, and
in Johannesburg on 19 and 20 May. He is
doing a special performance at Jan Harmsgat, outside
Swellendam.

American actor, Forest Whitaker has arrived in
Johannesburg for a two week ‘goodwill tour’ of SA. He is
joined by his wife and three children as guests of SA
Tourism and South African Airways. Whitaker won an
Oscar this year for his portrayal of Ugandan dictator,
Idi Amin, in the movie ‘The Last King of Scotland’.
His itinerary includes stays in Johannesburg, Cape Town
and Durban, a visit to the University of Johannesburg,
the Cape Winelands and a luxury safari.

Show Wraps Up Round the World Trip In Cape Town

globe for his popular Today Show segment “Where in the
World is Matt Lauer,” with a dockside stage outside Sun
International’s beautiful Table Bay Hotel, located
between the sparkling bay and grand Table Mountain. He
was joined by Today Show correspondents Giada
DeLaurentiis, who braaied (barbecued) with Table Bay’s
Chef Nicholas, and Tiki Barber.
