TOUR
Depart from the city and
drive via Stellenbosch to Franschhoek. We collect our mountain bikes from the
centre of town, and cycle along the main road towards the
Simonsberg Mountains.
Stop for a wine tasting at either La Motte or Moreson
wine estates, before continuing on to Boschendal
Estate, and Manor House museum. We continue towards Paarl with wonderful views
of the Simonsberg Mountain and the vineyard
covered slopes.
Stops at some of the estates en route, depending on your
preference and then cycle along the Simondium road with
lovely views of the Paarl Rock and the Swartland in the distance (weather
permitting).
Cycle down to the Simonsvlei and then on to
Fairview Estate, and enjoy lunch on one of the wine estates. There are
numerous spots to stop along the way.
After lunch
return to Franschhoek below the Wemmershoek mountains and past Drakenstein
Prison where an emancipated Nelson Mandela began
his walk to freedom.
If time permits, some shopping in Franschhoek, before we
return to Cape Town.
